Children’s Art Week Competition

As part of ‘Childrens Art Week’ with Engage, I ran my final workshop with the theme ‘Under the Sea’ and set the challenge of a drawing competition!

As you can expect with these wonderfully creative kids they took the theme and created some BEAUTIFUL pictures using some of the creatures from my workshops with some adding their own! It was a real pleasure looking through all the entries until it came to picking a winner! What a nightmare!

I had to go with the one I enjoyed the most and it is great pleasure I announce that the winner is… Millie Wood! She did a lovely job drawing her clown fish, rainbow octopus and whale from last weeks workshop, while doing her own dolphin all on a lovely seabed of plants. She’s painted all the sand and the water in the paints too which looks wonderful and really brings the whole picture together! Well done Millie!

Millie Wood’s winning entry!

I contacted Millie’s mum to let her know the good news and she said “Ah wow she’s so pleased! She really enjoyed the lessons and it definitely did give me an hour off to get on with work, thank you! It has made her want to sit down and draw more again after losing a bit of enthusiasm.”

I’m so glad! Congratulations Millie! I’ll get your prize out to you as soon as I can!

It wouldn’t be right not to show a selection of other fantastic entries that were sent in so without further ado please take a browse through more gorgeous entries from these talented children.

WELL DONE EVERYONE! I can’t wait to be back with more LIVE workshops later this year!

I’ll be taking a little break so I can continue working on my next book but there are more activities coming this summer from me so watch this space!
