Hello! It's so lovely to see you!

My name is Sarah and I live with my husband, Chris, and daughter, Megan, in St Martins in Oswestry. Our cat, Stella, lives with us too but is happy enough snuggled up in her little den under the sofa.

I’ve been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember… My Mum was a fantastic mentor to me, showing me techniques and guiding me to get the most out of my paintings. I went on to do Art and English at Marple’s ‘Ridge Danyers’ college where my grades were alright… but others were much better than I was. Undeterred, I went on to do Art foundation at Stockport college and did a degree in Creative Advertising at the University of Central Lancashire hoping to become an Art director for some amazing advertising campaigns… Sadly; as I left uni the credit crunch had hit the creative industries in a big way and paid placements at advertising agencies were scarce to non-existent. Sadly feeling like it was a sign I decided that I would keep the creative part of me to myself and do ‘normal’ jobs.

Fast forward to 2018 and I was off on maternity leave with Megan, my beautiful little girl. I wanted to go back to work in Marketing but they would only let me do it full time, which broke my heart as I wanted to spend as much time with my little girl as I could and be there for her growing up. It was at this point that my wonderfully supportive husband suggested that I follow my dreams and use my talents – the problem was I had no specifics on what my dreams actually were… At that time we were living in Newton-Le-Willows and I was taking plenty of walks around the town with Megan. It was seeing the world through her eyes that brought a fresh perspective to me – how the animals made their way around the high street and how they interacted with each other in the park. Inspired, I knew I needed to write. Meg was particularly high maintenance at that point (as most babies are!) and it wasn’t until later that night on a note app on my phone during a 1am feed that I actually got to writing the first few lines of ‘The Shoe Foxes’.

I showed the first few verses to Chris and although he pointed out some better wording and rhythm he told me that I might just have something worth committing to paper…

From then on I worked every moment that Megan was sleeping towards writing and painting the illustrations for my first Children’s book! Thanks to the support from my editor, Sue Miller from Team Author, it became an Amazon Bestseller on launch day!

Fast forward to the present and with the help of Team Author, I have released 2 childrens books and have many new and exciting ideas to continue with my series ‘The Tales of Willow Park’!

The next step is to visit as many schools as possible and inspire children to read more, write more, and be more creative!
